Chocolate Chip Cookies

Adapted from an Allrecipes recipe, these will be some of the best chocolate chip cookies you'll ever make. They are perfect by themselves, with a glass of milk, or on a dessert board. Give them a try.

Yield: 20 cookies


½ cup butter, melted

½ cup granulated sugar

½ cup dark brown sugar, packed

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

½ teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon warm water

1 ½ cups all purpose flour

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips


1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

2. Melt butter in the microwave.

3. In a large bowl, mix the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and butter until smooth. Beat in the egg and stir in the vanilla.

4. Dissolve the baking soda in warm water and add to the batter along with the salt.

5. Stir in the flour and chocolate chips until smooth.

6. Drop large spoonfuls of batter onto an un-greased pan.

7. Bake for 11-12 minutes or until the edges are nicely browned. Allow the cookies to cool for a few minutes and transfer them to a plate for serving.
